Listening To the World, Listening To the King

And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.” Matthew 21:22 ESV.

God calls us to speak to Him through prayer, providing a foundation for a closer relationship with our creator. Every Thursday I will post world and national events for you to pray for. By praying for others around us, not only do we acknowledge their need, but also acknowledge our need for Christ to come into our lives.

Members of Texan Bennett Chapel Baptist Church adopted 76 foster children after the pastor’s wife adopted four children. She inspired the other members to taken in abused and neglected children and give them a new home.
Pray that the foster children are able to experience God’s love through their foster families. Also, thank God for giving these children a chance at a better life

Hollywood actress, Amanda Bynes, has recently gotten herself in a lot of trouble. She was caught driving on a suspended driver’s license and possibly smoking marijuana.
Pray that she can learn from her mistakes and that she finds support to help her get through her issues.

Currently riots in Yemen, Egypt and Tunisia have become deadly, and have begun to attack U.S. embassies in these nations.
Pray that these nations can stop the violence that is harming so many people. Also, pray for the U.S. embassies under attack.

  1. I will confess, I have had such a heavy heart yesterday – praying and weeping off and on all day especially during the homecoming of the 4 who died in Libya. I read a response from Ed Husain, the author of The Islamist: Why I Joined Radical Islam in Britain, What I Saw Inside and Why I Left. Mr. Husain is a Muslim, obviously, his insight was very profound. What he said was a reiteration of Edmund Burke (an Irish political philosopher 1700’s) – “All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men (or persons) do nothing. “ He said that the only thing that will change the minds and hearts of the Muslims in the Middle East is for American Muslims and other Muslims around the world to speak up – to challenge the inconstancy and the lies that Islamist are currently free to speak without challenge to their reasoning (or irrationality). He said that only Muslims will be able to address this issue in a way that can be heard. I just want to say to my Muslim friends, I will be praying that you have the courage and opportunity to make a difference – to be instruments of peace and transformation -- to stop the evil and violence that is so present in our world that separate us from each other. I am praying that the Spirit of peace and the fruit of peace be planted and grow in all our hearts. Amen (September 14, 2012)

  2. The Middle East definately needs our prayers, as well as Americans Muslims. Finding the strength and courage to stand up for the injustice occurring right now is essential.
